The Anthology

Brian Kennell

Welcome to the home of singer/songwriter Brian Kennell.

In 1976, I had the privilege of moving into the Evergreen Cemetery Gatehouse when my father became the eighth superintendent in the cemetery’s history.  I found this experience to be extra special since the Gatehouse was my favorite building in my hometown of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.  Having grown up on Steinwehr Avenue, I would venture to the close-by National and Evergreen cemeteries.  As a child, I viewed them as nature sanctuaries.  Little did I know at the time that I would eventually move into one of the most historic Civil War buildings in our country.

After working at the cemetery since the age of fifteen, I assumed the position of superintendent of the cemetery in 1991.  That same year, I would begin recording music at a local studio and would eventually make my way to Nashville to work with some of Nashville’s best musicians.  Over the span of thirty years, most of my songs have been written in the historic Gatehouse.  In the spring of 2020, I decided that I would bring my recording career to an end with the release of my BAK TRAKS The Anthology project.  This forty-four song compilation will be sold with all of the proceeds going to help preserve the historic Gatehouse.  I also decided that all of my projects from the past and future will benefit the place that I have called home since 1976.

I hope that you will take the time to explore my music from my various projects and find it in your heart to help preserve the Gatehouse by purchasing any of my works or by donating to our cause.  The Board of Trustees of the Evergreen Cemetery Association and myself are committed to make sure that this historic building is preserved for future generations.

   Anthology Artist

North Carolina based Illustrator, Jacob Rosier, has been honing his skills with creative illustration and concept art ever since he was a child. With a degree in 3D Animation, Jacob uses his knowledge of computer programming and aesthetics to create works of art that can often span from traditional illustration to 3D character design. Being an illustrator has allowed his passions to flourish, and he’s often looking for new experiences and inspirations to influence his next piece. Although he loves building his technical skills in design, his main focus is improving his love for storytelling, and art is how he shares his stories with the world.
